An Awning In The Storm

by on February 13, 2012

Many people give your awning a road use, ie use it to protect their space against all weather, moderate or severe sometimes.

The sheet is used both as shelter from rain, wind, etc.. as to keep the sun and this is a very important point of conceptualization.
At the time of purchasing an awning or protect an area we must be clear so that it serves an awning.
An awning protects mainly the sun and is in this function excellently highlights where there are some models able to withstand rain and moderate winds but are merely forcing the natural function of the awning.
The whole is intended to provide shade and cool, mimicking the maximum possible to the natural feeling of being under a tree.
If after all this you still want an awning all must take into account the following points:
• The best canvas for water are those of its waterproof PVC and high speed drying. These tissues to my taste not give the awning the same elegance as the canvas.
• Modern acrylic canvases will resist water better than the old cotton sheeting that had just rotting, but accused early deterioration and aesthetics deteriorating rapidly. These canvases do not dry quickly and although they have antifungal treatments and salt, over time will yield seams.
• There resinated Acrylic sheeting on one hand leave “skid” water and the other kept the normal appearance of the awning.
• In the market we also find that disadvise waterproofing spray fully because all they do is waterproof the canvas for a while giving this a very visible aspect of artificiality.
• Better the more rigid structure. The working pressure in the wind is given to us by the surface of the canvas, the more volume we structure this sail under our awning will be more robust. Sliding sheets in the normal range and technique are more appropriate in these cases (always remembering that the awning was initially designed to protect from the sun).
• Many times having our tent in the rain is due simply to have forgotten that we deployed. A good solution to these frequent and typical oversights is the installation of sensors and automation that will make for us the job of collecting the awning when weather conditions require it. The aesthetic and durability benefits that these devices offer pay more than their initial cost.

Changing Concepts Of Umbrellas

by on February 12, 2012

You have to see how they have changed today the concepts of umbrellas. I remember many years ago yet a parasol was the tool that some were taken to the beach for a while to shelter from the sun while enjoying the cool sea and the environment.

These elements were a second-class awning, an umbrella reinforced and little else.

Then came the umbrellas and parasols import domestic use declined in the industry had to take your measurements or perish this market due to production capacity to low cost of emerging products. This is where the umbrellas came know that today, while in the 70′s a sunshade could measure a diameter of not more than 2m today are in the market umbrellas over 6 meters.

The forms have also had their variation and reinvention of the typical initial round forms evolved square, rectangle, polygon, etc … without saying by the footprint textile architecture has also left in these products, today we can find umbrellas conical design such as inverted catenary voltage, etc … this type of design will be worth worth devoting an entire entry in the future.

Noteworthy also are the anchors that often carry umbrellas.

One type of anchoring are plastic containers in which water is introduced. This type of footwear is insufficient to medium action. 1Kg/litro water density makes much VOLUME required for reaching the needed basis. Although the convenience of transport (empties and fills the container “in situ”) and its price is its greatest asset, is not the same as a good concrete base.
The most aesthetic of the anchors is built . For this type of anchor is necessary to have a rigid floor with mesh reinforced concrete. The depth, depending on the size of about 50 cm deep.
Finally, the anchor of precast concrete and iron base is the most practical of all. The system is a base with four tiles mazizas that one by one spread the weight to carry and are a good save. It is estimated that about 75 KG anchor most of the smaller umbrellas.
Well if you still have the umbrella concept of the seventies (which are also beautiful) damages for a walk and how they have changed fijaros, worth considering how real alternative in this project we have in mind.
